Benefits of Creating a Planner for Your Coaching Business

As a service-based business owner — a Life Coach, for example — it’s incredibly difficult to increase your income when you’re maxed out on time.

There are only so many hours you can spend each week personally coaching your clients.

So how do you increase your income without hiking your rates to unattainable heights?

I’ve got the answer — continue reading to find out how to stop trading your time for dollars.

For the past 20 years, I’ve been helping well established and successful business owners create profitable revenue streams by adding planners and guided journals to their list of offerings.

And I’m not just talking about owners of stationery brands. I’ve worked with lawyers, chiropractors, life coaches, speakers . . . you name it! All of these business owners have increased their revenue by creating and selling planners or guided journals. The key to their success is that we created a product that truly represents their unique system, philosophy, and methodology.

My team and I really dig into each of our client’s businesses. We want to get into your head and fully understand the process you go through with each of your clients. We’ll read your books and blog posts, watch any webinars or videos you’ve made, and interview you.

Our goal is to take your unique, hands-on approach and turn it into a product that you can sell in your sleep . . .

. . . because we know your goal is to stop trading time for dollars and grow your revenue.

You see, as service-based business owners (myself included), our default solution to making more money is to kill ourselves by working 24/7. Sure, you can hire a team, which I highly recommend, or create a course, which I also recommend.

But those two options require a lot more of your time. Do you have time to train a team? Do you have time to spend filming hours of course material? Probably not — at least not without taking time away from your money-making coaching sessions.

When you create a planner with us, we do all of the heavy lifting, and you reap the benefits! Now that’s working smarter, not harder.

Adding a planner or guided journal product to your service-based business will benefit you AND your clients in multiple ways:

01. It will broaden your audience.

By adding products to a shop on your website, you’ll be able to serve way more clients than ever before. People who may not be able to access your 1:1 services for physical reasons, such as location, or financial reasons, will be able to benefit from your wisdom through your products.

This is under the assumption that you’re selling a product for much less than a 1:1 experience with you — which should always be the case.

But remember, we’re taking your unique approach and turning it into a product. So everyone who uses your planner is also benefiting from your coaching services. It may not be your full service, but perhaps it’s the perfect place for someone to start.

This is a great way to add a less expensive tier to your pricing ladder. Entry level coaching at an entry level price. Think about how many people could benefit from that?! 🤯

02. You’ll be able to help clients thrive between sessions with you by providing them with daily tips or weekly journal prompts.

Imagine how valuable it would be to give your clients daily reminders that keep them moving forward and on track.

It’s the perfect way to enrich your 1:1 offerings.

03. A planner or journal will especially benefit your clients by enabling them to visibly track their progress and/or discover harmful patterns.

Whether this be through a habit tracker, mood tracker, or some other measurable scale. Visually tracking progress can be incredibly motivating — and in my opinion, there’s nothing better than a motivated client, am I right?

04. Plus, a product like this can help ensure long-term success for clients who have “graduated” from your program.

A planner or guided journal will help clients maintain the progress they’ve made through working with you.

And, having a product they can purchase regularly will provide you with consistent revenue.

It’s a win-win and a dream come true for any service provider to be able to offer more value and continued service while making more money in your sleep, rather than losing sleep.
