Planner Anatomy 101

Ok, so you know a planner has a cover and pages and some kind of binding . . .

but from there, the terminology is beyond your scope of knowledge and you want to know the proper way to share your desires for YOUR custom planner.

I’ve got you.

I’m breaking down some of the most common binding types, cover materials, and other essential terms you need to know when creating your custom planner design — complete with a visual because we like to keep it professional AND cute over here.

Binding Types

  • Twin Wire-O

  • Concealed Wire-O

  • Spiral

  • Bookbound

  • Disc

  • Ring-Bound

Bonus Tip:
When referring to your interior pages, know that pages of a planner can be counted in 2 ways — pages or sheets. “Pages” refers to one side of one piece of paper. “Sheets” refers to both sides of one piece of paper. For example, a planner with 100 pages has 50 sheets.
